One of my MD421s broke this weekend.
I grabbed it to mic up a guitar at a show, and the clip wouldn't stay in, so I took a look, and the body of the mic broke. There is a small missing chip that contains part of the mic that holds the clip in. I'm guessing that I would have to replace the whole body of the mic to fix it, and they'll probably charge, oh, about $400 to do it - plus shipping too! Guess I'll just have to glue the clip to the mic. And maybe reinforce it too somehow seeing how flimsy the clips are.

It's a shame to see such a nice mic go tumbling b/c you nudged the bottom of it.
It does make for some nice positioning, though.
Upon further thought...
Why not just glue the damn clip to the mic? It fits in the case that way, and I've never hung it "freestyle" before, so why not?

I just used some tape to hold it on the clip last night. That worked fine. I use an SKB case for my mics, so it wouldnt actually fit in the mic slots with a clip on, though I could just put it in a bag and into the open area - which I keep filled with cords and a few other bagged mics and DIs etc..

There are a couple listed for parts on fleaBay right now. They look like they've been used to turn big rocks into little rocks, but they have nice clear photos of the slot the clip goes into.

They both look like hell and I don't know if it would be any improvement over JB Weld on your existing mic, but worth a look.
