So i'm just starting to build up my home studio. My interface is the Tascam US800, i currently have a guitar, bass guitar, MAudio Midi Keyboard, Mic and i'm looking to get a drum machine. As i'm new to this i'm looking for suggestions. I'm been doing some research and so far i'm been checking out the Akai XR20 Drum Machine. Any one have any experience with this thing? Like I said i'm new to this so I'm looking for something easy to use, but also something that I won't have to "upgrade" for awhile if possible. Thanks in advance!

Well I was leaning toward the Maschine if i got with something thats confied to a computer to work since its been out longer (the Studio isn't even out yet is it?) also I was wondering the pros and cons between having something like Maschine or going just with something like the MPC 500 where its just hardware and no need to be connected to a computer

Good questions.

Correct on the MPC Studio ( summer) , but keep in mind, Akai has been at this game for a long time. Studio's ability to interact with your computer is going to be pretty awesome, but, its also new so bugs are to be expected.
Maschine is really awesome too. If you are familiar with the software already, I would probably go with that. If you find Studio appealing down the road, its not a big investment to add that to your arsenal. Its going to be very well priced.

Cheers!

Well i'm not familiar with any of it thats why all the questions lol, but I am leaning towards the Maschine....i've seen some videos of people using without a computer around so from what I thought it was that you had to have it hooked to a computer using the software, but can you load the sounds into it and remove it from needing to be connected to a computer? For instance in this demo video of the Mikro, i see no computer in the area at all [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.youtube…"]Jeremy Ellis performs on Maschine Mikro - YouTube[/]="http://www.youtube…"]Jeremy Ellis performs on Maschine Mikro - YouTube[/]
