:) Hey all!
I have a Yamaha AW-4416. This, all in one DAW, has a HOST computer connection. The manual is rather vague as to it's use, and sites midi control. Assuming that this is the same as an O2R. Would I be able to, via remote...

(1) Assign and route inputs.
(2) Control all track arming, and transport controls.
(3) Access EQ, and dynamics controls.
(4) Control faders for mixing.

If this is possible, what software would be used for these functions where I can see the controls layed out in a familiar fashion?

No idea on that one as I'm sure the connection is to be in conjunction with some software in which is a seperate application that does not sync up with any major sequencing software.

Usually what you can do is enable MMC ability, Midi Machine Control, which allows you to sync the machine up via MIDI which only controls playback, stop and recording(Not record enabling of tracks)

Unless the software has some sort of mapping protocol which communicates specifically to that machine and then it can be done. Doubt thats been done though TBH

Opus :D

:) Yea, what is intriguing about this multi-pin round serial connection, is that it is separate from the midi I/O ports which are located just beneath it. The other end of the Host cable uses a serial port on a computer. This could be a more, direct to, computer connection, with the same primary midi functions.
Thank you!
