allright. I'm about to record drums and stuff. i dont have any actuall recording gear besided the mixer that the mic is going to before the pc. its a mx802a Behringer mixer. i have a PG52 about and inch
away from the head right underneath the beater. and a sm57 10 inches away from the outer head in the center. it a tama rockstar bass drum 16x20. i have the outer mic covered to the drum with a sheet so the sound won't bleed. how can i make this sound fatter and tighter without buying a bunch of gear. I'm using cool edit pro. the two tracks of bass drum must come in on the same track. i hope yall can help .PCE!

record the track stereo to cool edit pro! (can you? i do that!)
in the mixer pan them center and record a few takes so you listen to mono to see phase!
after you got it, pan the pg hard left and the sm57 hard right and later on the cool edit pro separate tracks! this way you'll have the two tracks separated! eq them but see first which sound of the mics you like! then add the second one a bit and balance eq! 2 mic techiniques in my opinion work this way! use one main mic and the other is just to give another feel!
