Without even looking at your link I can tell you that these are one of the easiest DIY projects with the most return for your time and energy you can do. Yes, I have built a couple and a friend of mine has built several. His last one came complete with your choice of grill cloth for the front. He went with vintage Fender. Great stuff. I am going to build my next one with an 8" speaker in a Tama metal 10" timbale shell. Has a mount already in place and is nice and heavy. Should last forever.

BTW....I wire it as a high imp. device and use a DI on it. Any quality DI will help and an inline pad is desireable if you cant pad the input down to a usable level.

Well, Bucky, maybe you should use the GLOSSARY provided on the site for just such knowledge. You will certainly need it. BTW...."imp." is short for impedance. DI means "direct injection" and a pad is where the drummer sleeps also called his girlfriends house.

No fooling. These are NOT very high on the electronics degree program list. They are basics and will be involved with building the sub-kick. IN FACT...the link you provided talks all about it.

Or did you want someone here to build you one? I'm sure several will.....for a price. Then you dont have to know anything at all.

What was your question? Do we like using a speaker as a mic? Well Yes it can be useful for adding depth (low end) to a kick. Have we made them, well yes many of us here have twisted two wire together, some have even used solder....

I guess some people are looking for a more direct question?

Thats why I say just build it....

Yeah we're all dicks here. You asked for input... you got some basics and then you replied in a childish way. So.....hahaha.....

Since you dont like people replying directly to your questions I suggest you go somewhere else and ask the same question. Probably get the same answers and the same response to your same reply.

We are only trying to help but NNNOOOO you want us to coddle you and hold yer widdle hand and making poopoo noises and coo and tell you what a smart and talented person you are and thanks so much for wasting our time here asking questions that you dont really want any answers to.

Be sure and turn the light out when you leave.

And no reply needed.
