I was wondering if there are any KORG Kronos owners out there and if they could share their opinions/thoughts on it since I'm thinking of getting the 88-note version for home recording and live use.

thanks!

ps: I'm not sure this is the right forum... is it?

yes, audiokid. I've also heard about those issues, and I have to admit, I was utterly scared, but I think by now they should have been solved, right? my aim was to replace the M50 88, the Casio privia px330 and the R3 with just the kronos. of course I know I'0m going to miss the privia's keyboard action, which is stunning, and the vocoder in the R3, but maybe I can use a vocoder vst for recording, and I suppose the rh3 will be somewhat similar to the m50's. or is it a new/improved version?

I think Korg hasn't changed what was working. They just had some other issue, can't recall that created a fuss. They know what works, I mean I have an M1 here that is 20 years old and its still solid.
There is another member who contacted me a few months back over the 88, I'll send him this link and see if he will chime him and let us know what he thinks by now.

Stand by...

Anytime I ever replaced a keyboard I always regretted it later ( well except dumping an [="http://www.vintagesynth.com/arp/quadra.php"]Arp Quadra[/]="http://www.vintages…"]Arp Quadra[/] and an [Emulator II[/]="http://www.vintages…"]Emulator II[/]. The EII was a pretty cool 8bit marvel that got me on top of the Dance music scene in the 80's. But I was happy to get what I could for them both.
I think the Konos is going to replace a lot of what the others are but it might not ever replace the ability to have an addition keyboard right there when you need it.

Thanks for notifying me on that link moon! I fixed a bug that I wasn't aware of on the blogs!

The Chroma was a Cadillac compared to that Quadra. I had to turn that thing on for an hour before the gig to stabilize the VCA. I remember freaking when I heard ARP dissolved so I traded it in on something that I can't recall. It makes you wonder where all those keyboards are eh. I bet you could get a pretty penny for that Chroma. Vintage is in.

Check my blog now, I fixed the link.

Ah, I always wanted a Prophet. Wasn't that a fun time in music history! Man, so exciting and everything was really starting to sound great. The buzz was fat sound and voices. ( just around the corner ) Sequencing, MIDI, great reverb, and the talk of digital was only beginning. I sold a few things I shouldn't have. Oberheim was a great sound too. And who can ever forget the Moog and the Polymoog. I remember drooling over it, must have been about 17 years old, I think it cost around 8 grand. Stevie Wonder was the sound of that. hmmm...

My [="http://www.korg.com/kronosx"]Kronos X 88[/]="http://www.korg.com…"]Kronos X 88[/] arrived today. Wow, is it awesome! The weighted keyboard is the best I've ever used and the sound of this thing is amazing. Its pretty easy understanding it all. Great layout. The CP editor is a bit lacking but I'm told a new version is just around the corner.

Its so nice getting away from VSTi and back to no latency hardware like this. My next piece is an [Akai Renaissance[/]="http://www.akaiprom…"]Akai Renaissance[/] still on back order slated to arrive mid Nov.
