What features in DAWS (any of them) could you not live without?
For me, it would have to be envelopes which control plugin settings on-the-fly. Nothing beats using a bunch of envelopes to control fine-tuning of a short delay and mix levels to create some interesting flanging/phasing effects.
What about features you'd like to see? I for one would like the "Lock track" feature to show its face somewhere other than Samplitude. It's such a simple idea, yet it can potentially save a LOT of headache with the more CPU-hungry plugs, especially convolutions and reverbs.

Offline processing basically allows you to add an effect to a track, processed, not inserted or used as a send, but still have the ability to change the effect at any point! Saves CPU usage as well as giving you the chance to change it if it's still not quite right.
When you bounce a track down with effects applied it's a done deal..this way with offline processing you do not need to bounce or commit the effect!

Well here's one thing I would like to have: "Create Dub"... a plug-in or something that could create overdubb-tracks on vocals and guitars and so on. It should add some small variations in pitch and time and maybe formants too. That one would be a real time-saver.
Also if you could "rewire" audio in/outs to use them as inserts on tracks would be great.

Falkon... the pitch variations in real overdubbs are much more random and subtile.... If you have a good singer. ;) .... Chorus isn't the right way to go if you want to do this in a realistic way.

No freeze function, "yet"...all I can say
Overall a different audio engine...fx channels instead of fx sends...much different approach and it makes it more like a true analog console, more customizable appearances and configurations, different input and output routing schemes, input and output adjustable gain per channel or track!,
groups, folders and more...
it's more CPU hungry but not too much more...
OMF works beautifully, Open TL works seemlessly...
Just overall better...
No, no idea on SX 2.0...I know once 2.0 is truly done, which it is, and it is shipping, Europe has it now, the USA has it mid next week!!!
