i need your wisdom on what motherboard i should get for my first DAW, i have orderd a THERMALTAKE V5000A Cases and a Thermaltake Silent PurePower 420W power suply any advise will help

That's a very nice case your getting I have the 1420 for my gaming rig.
You didn't mention whether that P4 is a socket 478 or 775. That would help recomendations on a specific board but in general any board from ASUS or ABIT are good. Also sometimes you'll find Supermicro MOBO's at reasonable prices but don't count on it.
