Bought a second SSL X-Patch and now need an Ethernet spitter for the network. I tried one of my old wireless routers and it worked but it also took out my wireless ability on my mixing DAW. So I'm guessing I need a simple hub that isn't looking for a wireless connection, correct? The X-Patch is a simple java app that uses cat5. My computer has only one Ethernet out. Never done this before.

I would also like to be able to connect my second DAW to this network to access the mastered files, switch them between each computer. Right now I am jumping back and forth between two computers using a memory card. Any suggestion on all this would be appreciated,

Thanks!

Any modern wireless router should work for this. Most have 4 wired (Ethernet) inputs plus a wireless section, and all can be used at once if correctly set up.

You have to make sure you use different ethernet addresses on each device you plug in. This can be done by manually assigning the addresses or by using the dynamic assignment facilities in the router if it has DHCP.
