Good day audio enthusiasts.

I have a question for the veterans here.

I work for a PA rental company that is expanding to include a project studio. We have been getting more and more of projects that go beyond the track limitations of Pro Tools LE, and I also find the stock Plugins of PT LE to be unpleasing to my ear and in functionality.
So I'm considering other options and have come to the conclusion that Nuendo is the way to go.
And because all mixing boards and DAW's have built in EQ's I'm sure that the experienced people here, have opinions on the quality of all EQ's that they need to use.
I came across a thread here:

(Dead Link Removed)

Where a moderator here at RO, RemyRAD endorses the EQ of Nuendo to be of mastering quality. I consider her to be a wery experienced audio person and Chuck Ainlay, Frank Filipetti and a few other BIG GUNScant praise Nuendo enough.

I currently have one UAD-1 ultra card (more to be added later when resources allow). I have no access to audition Nuendo, and therfore I ask about its plugin quality, esp. the EQ of it.

Golli.

On a scale of 1 - 10 for over-all quality of EQ for Nuendo, I would give it an 8, so the EQ is certainly above average. A nice feature of Nuendo EQ is it's also very easy to save pre-sets. The UAD cards offer fantastic compression and limiting plugins, but I have had the best overall EQ experience with the Waves SSL EQ plugins within Nuendo. They are a bit more "musical" to me than the Nuendo plugs. That being said, however, they are not quite as flexible from a setting perspective as the Nuendo plugs. The Nuendo EQ plugs allow you 4 fully parametric channels, so if you need more granular control over your plugins, Nuendo EQ will suffice.

My opinion is Nuendo is the best multi-track DAW on the market and you will be thoroughly pleased with it's capabilities.

You should check out Cuebase 4 if you are not intending to do music production for surround sound movies as Nuendo is intended.

Nuendo > $2K
Cuebase 4 lists for 800.

It has the control room
It has transient designer ( a $2000 plug on its own)
It lets you have templates for all new things you may want to bring up.

I cant wait to get it.

Peace
Phil

i was on nuendo 2.???? and when steinberg offered a special to C4 i jumped... sure there will be nattering nabob's of negitivism that dont think some of the included fx are that great but IMO they are very usable... infact the new EQ i find to be real sweet... as mentioned if you dont need the extras you can save some dough getting C4 over nuendo... and as stated most of what you'll lose is video post stuff (along with 192k support and some file import/export IIRC) but you gain some VST'I's like the sound set from the motif and some others...way cool...
