Looks like the biggest difference between the two is I/O options - the Firestudio has 2xADAT I/O, BNC, and so on.
Plus, it has that nice CAT-5 connection for the optional MSR - a great device, and one that I have struggled to replace properly when I replaced my Firestudio.

You should be able to daisy chain them, as both have two firewire ports.

Do you already own the FP10? If not, go for the Firestudio. It is more expandable in the long term. ADAT is nice if your external preamps/interfaces have it.

According to the PreSonus website and forums, you can't daisy chain a FP10 to a Firestudio. You can chain two FP10s together or two Firestudios together, but you can't mix and match. I think you can chain a Firestudio to a Firestudio Project or a Firestudio Tube, but I'm not absolutely sure. Check the presonus website. I owned two FP10's and quite liked them. I also tried a Firestudio Project later on for about a week, sounded quite good, but decided I needed something different so I took it back - the problem wasn't sound quality, they were decent interfaces, and for 8 channels a good price.
