i ordered a new computer, and i'm wanna use the hardware in my old one for my DAW

specs:
3.2 ghz p4
abit ic7-g mobo
2gigs corsair twinx dual chan ram
delta 1010 host card
60 gig 250 gig ide hd's
antec 300 watt ps
ati x850xt vid card
plextor dvd-rw

anyone have suggestions for a nice quiet rack mount case? or maybe a quality case and i could just upgrade to real good (quiet) fans?

In my opinion the case makes less difference than the CPU fan.

If you buy a quiet cpu fan your box will be quieter.

Adding rubber groments under your hard drives will reduce some vibration transfer to the case too.

Case fans should be large and slow to reduce noise.

CD/DVD drives will almost always have noise when there motors are running.

Adding a fanless video card, helps elminate one more noise source.

Adding sound foam insulation is a BAD idea, it helps trap heat in the PC and cooks your CPU faster.
