I am going to be recording a bell set for a Indie/Hawaiian/Folk kind of song. I thought about just using a keyboard or MIDI sound, but I feel there is more integrity in going for the actual acoustic instrument.

Here are my current available mic choices:

1 LDC - AT2020
2 SDC - Cheap Nady's
1 SM58
Multiple Cheap Nady Drum Mics

Any thoughts about which mics, or other EQ, reverb, and/or compression use?

I might also add some small xylophone parts and kalimba parts too, using the same set of mics (individually tracked of course). For those of you who want to refresh yourselves on kalimbas: http://en.wikipedia…"]Kalimba - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/]="http://en.wikipedia…"]Kalimba - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/]

Thanks for all of the help!

There are different shapes and playing techniques, beaters, ..
With the few Glockenspiele I recorded, as Paul already suggested, like overheads, a bit lower and from front.
The harmonics spectrum of a Glockenspiel is a bit apart from normal instruments. If you record it stereo
you might get some phasing if the mics are a/b or ORTF. I have tried real XY with good results at slightly more distance to keep it together.
But always try what sounds best. Any good mic will give you a decent recording. I'd prefer LDCs.
