I've tried several times to use the search function on this site but it appears to be down at the moment. All the reviews of SE mics I've read seem really positive but I take magazine reviews with a pinch of salt especially when SE take out a few pages of advertising space!

I have some nice mics already but was looking for reasonable mics for the odd occassion when I run out. Anyone have any experience with these mics, all of the range but I'm particulaly interested in the SE1A, SE3A, Z5600A and out of curiosity the Gemini, is it as good as I've heard?

The cheaper SE mics are what we have now come to expect in their price range, and are good value for money. The more expensive mics however, do not fit the Chinese stereotype, and are not typical assembly line mics. The Gemini is a very good professional studio class mic, and is manufactured in the same way as many of its more expensive Western counterparts.
