I'm running XPpro on five PCs in our family. The sixth has Win98se on a 2GB HDD. It's my 4 year-olds. Can I get XPpro to run on a drive that small? He's running Dr. Seuss and the like (though he has already burned his first audio composition on Dad's system! - what a whacked out track!) and I'd like his PC to run like Mom and Dad's.

Thanks.

Doubtful. A minimal install - if you really know how to keep it small - is just about that size. More important, I assume that's an older computer that's slow and has less than 128 MB of memory, right? If so, don't bother as you really won't be satisfied with the performance.

LOL I have 6 in my house, too! Two Macs, two PCs running XP Pro, one running W98, and a laptop with W95.
If you really want to put XP Pro on the 4 year old's computer (???), you might as well spring for a new harddrive. As he gets older, he'll obviously make use of it. I'd recommend the Western Digital WD400JB, 40Gb, 7200rpm, 8Mb cache. The computer will definately gain some speed with it, and his games will run a little better. It's $83 at [="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=14&manufactory=1306&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1"]Newegg[/]="http://www.newegg.c…"]Newegg[/].
