I received a wonderful Christmas present from a dear friend of mine this morning:

A Focusrite ISA One mic preamp. I was overwhelmed by how thoughtful this gift was. I'm looking forward to using it. ;)

I have an old DAW system using Win7, Sonar Cakewalk 8.5 and a M-Audio 2626 (firewire).



I plan to retire my old hardware and move to a newer system with Win10, newest Cakewalk (while it still runs), also migrate to a new DAW over time (maybe Cubase). The new system will most likely NOT have Firewire, so I'll need a new audio interface.

Thought I'd share a project as I get into it. Not sure how long it's going to take in total, but, first work properly began yesterday.

HI Guys, I've been recording some Christmas music on Saxoph0ne and wanted to make a CD for my family. The thing is, I don't really want to give the CD in a jewel case or sleeve. So is there a cheap way to really make a pro looking case. If I can't get it done by Christmas, (which I probably can't) I'm still interested in what some of you have done.

I have a permanent quandary over placement of a master level reverb. My live side wants to put it last, as after all, you don't actually control the reverb of a real environment. So, I am curious, do you all put it after a limiter/maximiser or before?.

I took all the feed back from my last submission and tried to apply to this tune

Recorded my band this time on my Tascam DP 32 port-a studio

Used different mics in different tracks

Used different pre Amps

Reduced hissss from to high of gain

Panned equal sounding things

Has anybody tried mixing with pink noise?
