I've been actively browsing Samplitude threads to learn about the product and scooped an older copy from my music store clearanced out for $100.00 . It's Samplitude 11, I realize it's not the latest and greatest but I didn't mind putting out 100.00 to play with it ... (I'm sure there must be an upgrade option as well)...

I will ONLY be using this chain for vocals and my budget is 2,000.

I was thinking of the Neumann tlm 102 and maybe a UA 610 for preamp.

Just a not-so-random share on the birthday of a silent genius. Of course that's a relative term, but whatever.

As the owner of a small commercial studio, reliability and return on investment are critical to me. We all know that full timers like me are in it for love, not money. I buy ‘A’ stock equipment and software from reliable dealers so I have the assurance of customer support. A failure in the middle of a session is an unrecoverable business loss to me and the artists I work with.

What do you guys make of this. I'm wondering how companies like Antelope make a, so called "world class" converter, then a few months later Black Lion Audio upgrades it.
They also offer the improved clock, which the 10M made no difference to my ears, so how could this clock improve it?

I owned the Taylor 314CE for years and passed it off to my daughter. I need a new Taylor or something comparable to be able to earn some extra income. I don't really want the electronics. I'd much rather have nothing inside the box.
