I do a bit of recording as a hobby, so I use a lot of plugins and VSTs etc.
I'm getting tired of the tedious work required to adjust settings on the plugins with the mouse.
I have the PreSonus faderport which has relieved me from using the mouse with the faders and pan knobs which has been great!

I saw an advertisement for the Musician's Institute on the back of a bus today so that stirred up my curiosity. Would you pay $81,000.00 to go to Musician's Institute? LOL!
I'm thinking that even this school has become a business like anything else... a car dealership that wants your business... a mattress store... etc.

Plz any one tell me, is it possible to mix the track with the midi keyboard (novation impulse 61) which has 9 faders and few knobs to control DAW.
And mastering too after that?

I'd like to hear from the members about DDP coded files to go to a replication plant. Please help educate me!

Hi guys,

We've already discussed what people put or don't put on their master bus while mixing.
I personnaly don't put anything and I'm use to kind of blind guessing what the mastering process will do to my mix.

To keep an open mind, I want to try to mix with a compressor on the master bus, just to see if my mix will be different or at least if it's gonna help me.

I've recently been working with, and digging into, the FFT EQ Filter in Samplitude.

Currently I'm recording on my 2007 vintage laptop. It was smokin' fast and powerful in 2007 and I have no issues with performance as far as recording goes with it now -- but it's very loud as it has two internal fans that I cannot turn off.
