Are there ANY decent sampled pianos for rock?
I've been doing sampling for a looong time now and I've been hunting and hunting for a good sampled rock piano and all of my searches thus far have ended up empty-handed. Even the Double Platinum Rock Piano by Ilio doesn't even come close. Everything just seems too "pristine and perfect", as if they mic'ed the pianos for a PERFECT piano sound instead of preparing it for a mix.
Dangerous 2-bus?
Anyone used this ? or similar alternatives ie oram 8 channel fader etc... I've decided that mixing my pro tools out to an analog 2-bus mix is the only way I'm gonna get the separation and clarity/depth similar to the studio SSL I rent out for final mixes.
What do people use?

Tip: free compressor (vst)
I just read this on the propellerheads board:
http://www.digitalfishphones.com
he's got a free comp / limiter.
I like it because of it's tube-like warmth
Cheers

Harvey, the RNMP?
Did I dream it or did I read in another forum where you said McQ was a couple weeks away from unleashing this mythic beast upon the world? If I was dreaming, please forgive me dragging this dead horse out for another round of kicking.

PS-I promise not to hound you for review daily. I'll leave that to others.

Get yer P4's UPDATE 3/4/02
Intel's new Northwood core is here. It has 512 L2 on board cache compared to the older P4 which had only 256 L2 on board.
The P4 1.6a (notice the "a") costs around $150.00. The amazing thing is it overclocks with a slight bump in the FSB to a P4 2.2Ghz and beyond with the stock heat sink and fan.

Help with Pop Vocals...!!
I was jsut wondering what kinda signal processing the pros are using nowadays. I'm mixing a project for class with a male vocalist. It's kinda Duncan Shiek/ Savage garden genre. The vocalist is decent but not really emotional. I just need some ideas to put some final touches on the mix. Any suggestions?

Critiques On Our Projects - Where does the music go?
Well, as scary as it is, I think for me to move forward in my own projects, it is about time to provide something for public consideration. Problem is, while I do have a little freebie website (click above to see), it only allows file sizes of 1 MB or less, so I've been resorting to very low quality .WMA's (no mp3's allowed either) to get the music heard by some of my online friends.
