Hi! I have a question I can't find answers to (so far) on the net...
I just found out I can edit waveforms and manipulate parameters on my VS-890 with my PC using Cakewalk via midi... do I need to download anything for this?
Can ya help me out?

I'd like to buy a hi-end dual mic preamp and compressor for my DAW. It'll be my only hi-end front end (so far).
I'm looking for big sound without distortion.

I'm considering getting either
- Drawmer 1969 or
- Great River MP-2NV and a FMR RNC (or BUZZ SOC)

Which choice will get me there?

Hello everybody.

Well, once again, my band has failed to be granted a showcase at this years SXSW - more a matter of us being locals than sucking.

So, we're thinking of ways to make our presence known; possibly the 'gig on a flatbed in a prominent place' idea, and I was hoping some of you might have some other thoughts.

Your thoughts requested, especially impressions from any who've tried this. What I'm contemplating is using my new Beyer M260 with Sank mod as a single drum overhead in Fletcher's three-mic technique. I'm a week out from this session, and wondering if its hypercardioid pickup will present too tight an image.

OK...I want to open up this can of worms again because I don't think I have really heard a great explanation for it. Opus has mentioned that there are other threads here at RO that have "hashed this to death already"...well...in my mind, I am still a bit "unhashed" I guess...
