I need opinions on the best 2-bus comp. The Manley seems to have a good rep but I'm concerned with the tube issue and the questions of low end mud. The Crane Song seems to be where I'm leaning. I do mostly Alt rock. Just got off the phone with the Smart distributor.

Motherboards and Processors
Which one do we choose? Which one is better for us? Which one has more proven success rates? Which ones do certain audio hardware manufacturers recommend?

I just added an old blackface ADAT to my system ... Celeron 1G, 512m RAM, 7200 rpm HDs, Delta 1010 audio card, WinME. I'd like to find someone running a similar system (i.e., adding an ADAT to an existing hard-drive recording setup) with the same hardware (Deltas).

Hi guys, I just bought this card about three weeks ago, and I had it working fine in my old computer, and AMD 300mhz k6-2. This past weekend, I upgraded to a faster 900mhz Athlon and I am having problems getting it to work. But I am a tenacious little bastard, so I know that I will get it working eventually.

Interesting rumor going around that Apple is going to purchase Avid. Its a rumor, but it would not surprise me at all, seems to make good sence for Apple, and Avid shares have been declining.

The thing to wonder about is - how safe are Pro Tools users (and third party PT developers) if Digi falls in the hands of a "non-audio" parent?

Hello, I am computer stupid. I have several recordings done with my ADATXT. What GOOD QUALITY hardware and software do I need to to hook my ADAT XT to my Gateway computer so I can get the recordings in the computer, add effects including compression and burn to CD without much complication. I'm really considering building this system myself. My main concern is that this would be the first system I've ever built, and I don't want any mistakes or over looked details to get in the way of my production. Does anyone know of any online lay out or fully detailed... step by step building procedures I can follow? I mean everything down to the last LED.
