Speck EQ vs. . Avalon 737's EQ
Opinions on comparing these 2 EQ's? (without considering Avalon's other features and bang-for-the-buck value).

Unusual Favorite Keyboards
Howdy
The other night we were working on a Merengue tune. My partner and I were hoping to have a nice little trombone section in certain parts. The problem was we couldn't find a time to get together with the trombone player. An idea struck me and I went into the back of my closet. There behind the cowboy boots was my Yamaha CE20.

British near-fields?
I am looking for a pair of inexspensive, shielded near feild monitors. While I was reading a review of the Alesis monitor point sevens, the author commented that they had a lot of compitition from several british models. Does anyone know what he was talking about, or can anyone recommend a pair in that price range?

Question for Opus2000
I have an Asus CUSL2-C based system with a 1GHz PIII and two hard drives and a CDROM and CD-RW. I have this set up as we had discussed earlier with the two drives on seperate IDE channels as masters and the two Cd devices as slaves. Performance has been satisfactory and thanks once again for the advice.

Pink Floyd drum sound
Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can tell me how to obtain a drumsound simular to dark side of the moon, in particular the snare sound.
I realize that the drums them self and the tuning are important to the sound, I would appresiate any advice in this department too.

Ang, Son of.., Curve and others. Jpop-a-lot
Following an initial crit from Ang and Son of Smawg I have remixed 'Mukai' with their suggestions in mind, in the limited time (and experience) I have. I have also uploaded the second song 'Yo!' to the NEW website.
Please give them a listen and let me know what you think. They are both c. 3Mb in file size and are both encoded at 128Kbps in stereo.

It ain't the heat...
I've got a basement studio where the humidity fluctuates quite a bit with the seasons. It never gets as high as 80%, but it does get into the 70's sometimes in the summer. I run a dehumidifier as often as I can, but it's not automatic, and if I go away for a July weekend, it's up over 70 when I get back.

loudness
hi there,
I was curios to know what is the usual loudness to peak ratio in commercial overcompressed stuff and a good sounding album (you name it).
I'm curios, 'cause a client of mine has just bought SoundForge 5.0 (I think), and told me that there is a function that increase the loudness in a song.
He said that there are three preset:
