Does anyone know what makes a good drum room? High ceilings? Cedar panelling? Any tips are info you guys have gathered along the way would be great.

The Sonet takes over from the now discontinued Newetch chip. Anyone done this, I have put my money down for it.

My Mix + Expansion chassis / ProControl set up is working just fine... I dont want to disrupt it with - USB - stealth ports and new scsi cards... And I want to rock & roll with PT 5.1 and not suffer the tapping hand on Beat Detective and other stuff...

Anyone tried those? I know Igor Cavalera from Sepultura uses two for his double kick setup... I playied in his kit once and I kinda liked... but you really need to get used to it...

I would like to find the notation/midi sequencing software of my dreams. I've been a Cakewalk user for quite some time, but their "staff view" doesn't do what I would want my dream software to do. So i was recording a demo for this band the other day and had an old RCA ribbon on a guitar amp. The guitar player had the habit of dancing around when he took a solo and when he start shaking his fat ass in front of the amp it produced this wicked phasing, apparently because of the reflections off his booty shakin'. It was truly strange.

I heard about an application that can "learn" your outboard gear, and then you can control the parameters, switch programs, settings, etc. using this application to control your gear thru MIDI... does anyone knows what I'm talking about? I could be wrong...

Hey, I realize the R121 needs plenty 'o' juice to be happy.

I've been pairing it with an AMEK 9098 pre/eq (up to 72db gain).

I've noticed w/drums & loud guitars (if up there in volume) I don't need the higher gain so much.

Having a bitch of a time with an iBook and the 828
