getting drums to punch through mix
I get the sense that I'm drowning out my kicks and snare in my mixes.
I try to raise the level of the kick, but when it does punch through the mix, it's too overpowering and I can't make sense of where the level should be so it's enough, but not too much.

Any simpler way to program drums?
Hi guys,
I'm getting lazy to program my drums in Cubase by adding individual note one after another. I am hoping someone can recommend me some easier methods or programs that I can use?
If there's any? I am looking into more of a realtime editing even if it meant taping my keyboard per intruments (know what I mean?)

Recording drums (specifically tom sounds)
Hello everyone. I've been a lurker on here for a little while, reading and absorbing a lot of great advice on a great online forum that I'm really excited to have found. I don't remember replying anywhere else yet, although I could have.. so this may very well be my first post here. Yay. :)

Do you use room mics to record drums ?
If so ? Where more or less do you place the mic or mics ? by this I mean distance from the source and from the floor.
What mics do you use (brand & model) ? and how many. Do you use Omnis, figuer 8, cardiods ?
Thanks alot!
JP

V-Drums Midi out to PTLE on 002R - Sperate Tracks - How?
How simple is this? Does the 002r take the midi direct or will I need another outboard gear option to do this.
What I want is each trigger to be on a sperate track in PT LE so I can mess with each signal individually.
How to I guess.
I have the Roland TD-6V as the main brain to the kit.
Thanks
