mic tech for snare drum?

hey I am in the process of recording my band and I am stuck on the snare drum tone! I have a new set of heads tuned with a tensionwatch and i'm running a Beta 57A into my digimax PreSonus into Stienberg Nuendo. i'm monitoring back through a Behringer 2004 into my Mackie HR824's. The drummer is killing this thing in the live room but it sound like a little tin can!

tuning drums

how do you come up with the correct pitch for each drum?

basically i have been working the head until the sound "comes together". I'm new to REALLY tuning drums and would like to get better. ive read all the basics of tuning. when i finish with a head, they tend to [what i think] be pretty tight and high pitched for the sizes. [13x12/14x13/16x16 toms and 14x4 snare, 22x16 kick]

E-Drums for church no cymbals, drums only. Who rules?

I need excellent feeling and sounding e-drums for stage noise purposes. I will never use sampled cymbals, because they are sterile. But I know that the drums themselves can sound really good when sampled right. I have some samples from Sonic Implants that I love. So I know its possible, but is anyone out there "making it happen".

Fixing live drums

Hi all... recently I saw this new forum (maybe with time the best audio forum because its very large boards).

I have a little problem fixing drums.

I've recorded 7-8 tracks of live drums. How can I quantize this tracks for fixing out of time hits or for thighten up? (or groovin' a
sterile & clinical live performance).
