Guitar Micing question
I have a Senneiser e609 and when I mic my cabinet I have to crank the volume really loud to get some decent output BUT when I just talk in the mic it pics up everything just fine.
I run it through a firebox and have to put the gain all the way up. I'm placing the mic right against the cab in the middle of the bottom part of the speaker.
Am I placing the mic wrong?

How much usually to service a mic?
Hi! Noob to the forum here!
Well, I had my Bluebird on a (not great quality boom--I know, you get what you pay for), and I didn't have it balanced quite right and it fell over w/ my Bluebird on it. It fell from about 4.5 feet high onto a wooden floor.

Need stereo mic to round out chamber music recording rig
Hi Everyone,
I've been poking around on this forum for a few days and appreciate the level of education.
Here's my situation.
I am a countertenor (think classical opera singer male alto) who needs to buy the last component of my traveling recording setup.
I have my little MacBook and my 24/96 Firebox (it sounds good with clean mics).

newbie help on live dynamic compression
I'm in no way, shape or form a "pro". I'm simply tasked with taking a not-for-profit/fundraiser, live play and make it sound good. So please, no flames at my obvious ignorance?

Mic Rental
Hey guys! Long time no talk :)
I've got a gig coming up soon that I need some nice mics for... a main pair (cards or multipattern) and a few spots (an M160 or two and something nice for piano, like a single point ms mic). The question is... where might I find a person to rent from?
