Good mic for trombone?
I want to start making recordings of a jazz trio (trombone, guitar and bass) I'm planning to buy a Tascam dp-01 and maybe a Shure sm57. I'll just be recording in my room. Our neighborhood is quiet enough but my room is not acoustically treated.

Mic purchase help!
Hi, I am looking to buy some mics to record my band. I need to record drums and vocals. I have a Pod for recording my guitar buy just out of curiousity, is there a mic I could use for more than one task, such as guitar and drums, etc... I've heard a lot about Sm57s, buy they are pricy (in my range). Thanks

e-mu 1820m unusual microphone question
Hey, i don't know if this is the best forum to ask this in, but it's the weekend and i can't call emu tech support.
I have a headset with a mic that i use when playing games online to talk to people. The headset has a stereo (two red rings) 1/8 jack for the microphone. The problem is that the emu cards and the audiodock don't have any 1/8 inputs. It has 6 1/4 inputs though.

Help with mic selction for new sancturary
This sanctuary, currently under construction, was designed by a local architectural firm with acoustical and PA recommendations from one of the leading consultants in the field. The problem is the consultant’s design was a bit too expensive for the budget and now has now left the scene.

microphones for home studio recordings?
just looking for suggestions for a good quality and good sounding mic for all around home studio recording. Have been checking out large diaphragm condensers/ some tubes. Vocals is my number 1 priority. Also some acoustic guitar. Style of music is hip hop/rnb (not sure if that'll make a difference). Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Best baritone vocal mic?
Hi, I'm a sort of Dylanesque singer/songwriter that is recording at home & I am looking for a decent vocal mic for under $250. Considering a moded Oktava 319 - a ADK-A51 or a MXL v67i. Or wait to find a lucky deal ebay deal on a RODE .
