mic muted, click record, lots of background noise!
Hello,
This is my first post here... I'm trying to slowly build up a recording system that I can move around with me so we can record some hand drum, string, and vocal. At present I'm trying to get just one mic to work properly with my laptop or desktop.
Basic MIC200 Advice
Hi everybody,
I am basically an MC who has little to no interest in audio equipment, but needs to know how to use it, and struggles to figure it out.
I have just purchased a Behringer MIC200 Preamp, and a Behringer C-1 microphone, and am having an absolute sh!t of a time trying to set it up with my computer.

Backline Micing Hardware
I'm am looking for a link or name of a manufacturer that manufactures a mic holder/stand that can slide between the bottom of an amp and the amp's road case in which it sits. I would be using either SM57 or MD 409 mics with them. I've seen some of these used previously and they are great. If the amp moves the mic stays put and moves with it.

Need advice/help with mics
I'm currently making my first recording set up. As of right now, I only intend on recording vocals (rap, some singing). I've been looking at an AKG Perception 200 (large diaphram condenser) because I've heard it's the best one in my price range. However, I've also heard things about power supplies, preamps , etc...

I have the chance of getting any of the SE mics at very good prices, so I thoughא of having a combination of a few mics which will be used all over for recording acoustic guitars and electric guitars (my main amp is a Twin), piano, vocals and drums.
