Mic decision. .
I'm fairly new to recording, and am 17, and on a BUDGET.
I'm either thinkng of getting a pair of at4050s or an ADK Hamburgs.
I need 2 for stereo recording guitar and piano. the AT4050 is better than the Hamburg, right? I mean it costs lots more. But I don't think I can afford 2 4050's. Is it a good idea to get a 4050 and a hamburg for stereo recording, or is that a bad idea?

Oxford Dynamics and EQ plugins
Oxford Dynamics and EQ.
Compared against anything UAD offers, which I have, are they worth 2 to 2.5X ? 550 for the EQ seems pretty pricey, especially with no demo for me to try AFAIK (gave all the demo's a once over about 6 months ago), same with dynamics. Then again I have a buttload of compressors available to me with UAD and 3 cards to spare, but only 3 EQ's.

RODE NTK power supply question?
I've been recording on this mic for awhile now and I have question the sound of it. There is a certain harshness that I get with the vocals. My chain is NTK-Grace 101-dbx166XL-MOTU 828mk2.

Valve Mic or dynamic mic for home studio
I have a groove tubes 67 valve mic that I use in my small home recording studio. I also have a groove tubes 'The Brick' tube mic preamp which I also use as an instrument D.I. The acoustics in my studio are not very good I need to add.

Buying Used Mics
Hi all.
I am close to buying 2x U87 (old ones) and 2x Sennheiser 421. They are used, from a former pro-studio sale, reputable dealer. (£700 and £160 each respectively).
I've never bought second-hand mics before; is there anything I should specifically look out for and to avoid?

Vocal Air/Sheen - Mic? Pre? Comp? A/D/A? All?
I record only my own vocals, no instruments. I'm a baritone, with harshness right at about 2k, singing mostly pop and easier-listening music. What I want to achieve is to be able to capture/produce the smooth, high-frequency air/sheen. I don't have the resources locally to demo recording equipment, so it's hit-and-miss, and so far, I've missed.
what cheap mic would best suit my voice?
Hi Guys-
I apologize if this question has been answered before. I've been searching around on the forum and just cant find the right answer-
Is there any way to make an educated guess on what budget mic would best suit my voice?
