Mic for Contrast to C1

I'm trying to decide on a mic for a contrast to the SP C1. While I like the C1, I would like another mic that is not as hyped on top for vocals and other applications where you just might not want that "somewhat overboosted" high-end . I guess I'm looking for a little warmer sounding mic. I have a SP C1, 2 SP B3, 2 SP C4, 2 SM57, d112, ATM25. Preamps are Langevin DVC and Sebatron vmp-4000e.

Mic Question

A couple of weeks ago, I was working with a drummer and found that a pair of RODE NTKs in knee-high position sounded pretty sweet to blend into my usual drum-kit tracking setup. Of course I checked the max SPLs of the mics and RODE lists that they can handle 151db.

Why are DVD-V dynamics disappearing?

I know that the issue of dynamics in recent releases has been debated a lot. Although, what I don't quite understand is why DVD-V titles are suffering from this trend as well. Wasn't the whole metADATa concept implemented in order to create more options? It is depressing that I enjoy DVDs from a few years back more than recent releases with their current lack of dynamic range.
