Mackie 32.8 bus question
Forums
I have a Mackie 32.8 Bus console in the studio.
I use it just for the monitoring when i'm recording drums mostly, and i have my RME ADI8 outputs rooted to tape returns on the rear,so i can listen all the chanels.
The question is,how badly does Mackie degrade the sound quality of the original source.

auto-tune a Choir. Can it be done?
Forums
I am looking at mixing a project and the choir is flat for most of the song. I believe the choir was tracked live infront of four mics. I have asked if we can hire pro singers for the song but I don't think this is in their budget. I didn't track the Choir but I was asked to tune them. I am affraid that their will be bleed on the mics between registers and I might not be able to tune it.

Best reverb for classical music?
Forums
Reverb seems to be the thing I lack the most of.
digi verb is a POS, and space designer only runs on logic.
I want something that sounds very natural. To give recordings less dead space when the musicians pause.
I really don't want to spend over a grand on this.

Good deal for an Avalon?
Forums
I can pick up a 737sp for about $1600 (used), so I'm trying to get some feedback. I know they're well renown, but I also know that a lot of other pres have come on the scene since it has at roughly the same price point.
I'd really like to get another pre to experiment around with and since this puppy has built in goodies it seems like a pretty decent idea.
Thoughts?

Simple issue with Cakewalk HS 2002 - please help
Forums
I am using Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 to record a simple drum beat and guitar demo. I created the drum beat using Fruity Loops Express, with a tempo of 140. I exported that to a wav file, then imported it into cakewalk after setting the tempo to 140. No problems up to this point.
Good Recording software for Mac?
Forums
I have a Mac Powerbook G4, with Garage Band. I dont really like the program for recording so i use a Tascam DP-01. I really enjoy the Tascam but Im looking for a quality, easy to use software program to give me a more "professional sound" and the enhanced manageability of recording on a computer. If you have any suggestions for good programs for a good price that would be killer.

Re-amp'ing
Forums
I've wanted to try re-amp'ing guitars for a while. These are some questions I still have:
1.) Getting appropriate signal to my computer: will my GT Brick function as well as a specialized DI if I use the Instrument Input --> Instrument Thru configuration? This is from the literature:
