Recording Software
Forums
What kinds of software do you use if you record (voice, guitar, sunth) on your computer to make mp3 recordings? There are so many out there, and some are easier to use than others. Looking for something relatively easy to use and not terrible expensive, at least for now.
Sorry if this is already out there and I haven't found it. This is my first day searching the forum.

Exporting PMX files to Sequoia?
Forums
I have a bunch of multitrack Pyramix files that need to go to a Sequoia user. We are hoping to convert them to AIFF, BWF, or WAV and send them over in a format that will allow the operator to import (drag/drop) the takes into Seq without having to treat each individual track of a given take. That is, the takes will be multitrack files.

Cedar Tools "Retouch" for Pro Tools PC

Hi everyone,
I just posted a message about this in another thread, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to put it in it's own thread too.
I just won a copy of Cedar Tools Retouch in a magazine competition, unfortunately it's for PC and I run a Mac, so I'm selling it on ebay here:

Silly calibration techniques of the technologically insane!
Forums
Today someone - let's call him Phil (not his real name) - attempted to explain a calibration technique that he claims is regularly used by “all the best engineers”. As I am having difficulty following the logic behind this technique, I present it to you for discussion. The technique he conveyed is as follows:
