Hi All, I'm told by a new friend made via RO that changing the tubes out in my ART Pro MPA can result in pretty decent preformance improvement. This year's shopping list is all about really good pres and comps, but for now, a cheap way to improve what I have sounds enticing. Any thoughts on different tubes in each channel for diffeent flavors? Thanks.

I have a Soundcraft Ghost and a AlesisHD24XR. I have been mixing in Protools, with the renaissance reverb as my main reverb, but that takes up quite a bit of power. I am dedicated to moving more and more torwards outboard gear. What do you think the first reverb I should be should be? At first, I think vocals deserve the best quality of reverb.

I'm looking for a preamp around $1000 USD that will add some character to my recordings. Right now I only have the preamps built in my Apogee Mini-Me.

I plan to buy a Vintech 473 sometime in the future to get the Neve sound in 4 channels.

What are the pros and cons of exporting music in software? I think it's a good idea to send to a external recorder but I am in the process of acquiring the funds to get a masterlink. any info?

I am thinking of buying a pair. I have A/B'ed many monitors the past two days, in many different price ranges and these sound great. Opinionsor comments would be helpful.

I read this today in a review of the Sebatron .

"Be careful if you daisychain the channels to not use a guitar cable as it could damage your vmp-2000e. Instead, use a 1/4 unbalanced patch cable."

Forgive me if I'm an idiot, but isn't a guitar cable nothing more than a 1/4 unbalanced patch cable?

Has anyone had any experience with this preamp? This will be my first preamp purchase, (used for main vocals) and it sounded great in the shop. I've tried the AMEK CIB, AU6176, and they seem to sound superior on some material, but not like double the price better. Is anyone using an SPL Channel One and able to comment/ I'd appreciate your input.
