I was just wondering what are peoples feelings toward the Apogeetrak2 mic preamp/di and 24/96 conversion system compared to others in the price?

I am in the prosess of buying a nice front end to my MOTU setup, and instead of buying a load of pre's, I thought I'd buy a nice mixer which will be much more versatile as well for mixing, routing etc...

Had a look at an AMEK BCII at Funky Junk in London. Looks nice, but it was still in parts for an overhaul.

I have this old Behringer Edison-Stereo image enhancer that I've had a lot of fun with. I've used it a lot on Bg-vocals. I really like the way you can expand the stereo-image and be able to move the center from "front" to "rear" ( and vice versa).
Now I know that you'll say that all the Behringer stuff are crap... So my question is:

I'm trying to see if anybody knows more about this so call rebirth of SX. I see there might be some minor interface changes, but that's it. What's upgraded from the exsisting version?

Okay, I've thought about it a long time and I may actually dump the idea of a Roland VS 2480 or Akai DPS24 and actually jump to Pro Tools. I'm really surprised at this move, but there's too much noise being made and why fight it?

These are quite an expensive item new (£1000/$1599) and I can get a used one for £235!

Is this a good piece of kit and would I easily be able to make my money back if I don't like it?

I cant test it as it is a few hundred miles away!
