I was just wondering what people thought a good option might be for replacing the 888 on my Mix+ system. I just took the relatively expensive plunge on a Rosetta 800, which in the informal shootouts I've done thus far knocks the living socks off the 888. But I really want to have 16 in/out.

Since the Omni can't handle all my Input needs I have decided to purchase a Behringer UB 1202 mixer. I first thought I would just use the Behringer to handle the extra modules I had. But now I wonder if it would be better to plug all my instruments and Mic into the Behringer then go OUT of the Mixer into the Omni?

Hello all. I'm about to drop a few thousand on the Roland 2480. Having just finished a great sounding full song on the VS880EX (done with about 20 tracks in all, using virtuals, bouncing etc), I think this will be fine for producing a pro quality recording - PROVIDING: I have the proper knowledge and know how to record; the proper mics; the know how to use effects properly, etc., etc.

I was finishing a mix a few hours ago. As I were using plenty of plugs and was a little lazy to deactivate some so as to open the junior mastering plugs across the master fader, a strange thing happened:

At first, I had: Q10RTAS > TC MASTER X 5 TDM > Power Dither TDM > PAZ TDM

I have been a big fan of the "Pluggo" line of plugins for a while but they have not released a package for us poor PC users yet. :(
I am looking for other developers that make good plugins that manipulate incoming audio rather than just adding the standards like reverb, compression etc.

So, it seems that my CD-drive is what burned out on me the other day... What do you guys recommend for a replacement? It'll be used to create demo CDs for my band, as well as masters for other recordings. I've thought about getting a DVD writer of some sort, but the cash isn't available yet...

What have you guys had good (or bad) luck with?

Hi - a colleague has some bits to do in LA and needs a really basic 8 track 16 bit rig for playback. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy from either new or 2nd hand - don’t fancy ebay much for this one!
