What would you recommend using on the kick drum. I mostly going to record hard rock, metal styles. Recently i've been using pg52 and for metal i would always mic the beter with sm57. I think out of theese 3 options i need something with more bottom than click. Thank you.

I was just wondering what everyone's approach is to doing a remix or a mashup?

I've been dabling in it just now but would like some tips on how to go about it.

Tips like:

What software people use.
How do people break down the original to use pieces of the track.
Where do they get samples, acapellas etc.
Other must do methods.

Currently I am using a pair of DX4s with my mbox2 setup because they were a. Cheap and b. sounded good for the price c. got the job done.

I have been told that I would get better results in my mixes if I upgraded to something slightly more expensive like the KRK RP-5's.

I'm looking at purchasing these mics :Audix F12, and Marshall MXL V57M Mic for Micing drums. Audix for the kick and MXL for the overhead.

Im using Tascam us 122 and my question is will i harm my mics if i use phantom power on one (the other doesn;t need it) need help!

Hi guys...I have a very basic question.
What would be the difference between
*sending all my digital outputs into 1 stereo output- to a high quality preamp and sending it back to the A/D converter

and

*sending all my digital outputs into a summing mixer and then into a stereo preamp and sending it back to the A/D converter

Hi, I have Cubase SX3 with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro. my problem is:

first: I record one track of guitar in mono.

then I create a second track for another guitar but when I record this second track, the first track is written in the second track also...

how can I resolve that?

I am lost and confused. I have a soundcraft spirit folio sx 20 mixingboard. But I want to go all rack, I used this board only for preamps. So I was satisfied with the quality of the preamps.
