Would like to build a pc recording studio
Forums
Hello everybody,
I am a newbie in desperate need of advice.
I would like to put a pc recording studio together. I was told all I would need is an Imac g4, firewire, Pro Tools, speakers, and a mic. Does this sound accurate.
I need help. I am a female rapper who needs to get a studio together like yesterday.

Hours a day at studio tracking
Forums
Hi everyone, it's me again! Im tracking my songs at my Homestudio and i wanted to know how many hours a day are good enough to track vocals without damaging my voice, cos i'm actually doing 3 or 4 hours, taking 15 min breacks between couple of takes.
Thx.

Forums
I'm thinking about buying a RME ADI-2 AD/DA converter and I'm just wondering what PCI card would best be suited for use with it.
Recording Harps
Forums
I would like to do a recording of three harpists and would like to tap into all of the knowledge out there. I've mainly done sound reinforcement - not much studio work. What kind of mics should I be looking for? Has anyone out there every recorded three harpists? People have suggested the Neumann KM183 but they run around $800 each and that's a little steep for me.

Recording Help in Cool Edit Pro!
Forums
I am using Cool Edit Pro and I need help with something. I recorded a guitar track first and then for the track 2 I want to be able to play track one through my headphones while I record a vocal track on track 2. When I try to record a vocal track, it plays the track one and that records over into the vocals track along with the singing.

Hill Multimix psu cable
Forums
I have a Hill Multimix with a PS1 power supply. It has 2 5 pin DIN connectors with different patterns to connect them. The pins are labeled on the power supply and not on the mixer. The power cable is lost and I am trying to make a new one. I have the parts but need to know the pin voltages on the mixer. Can someone help me out?

Okay, so i've got this nice peice of equipment sitting next to me and i've been trying for so long to try to figure out how to burn the music onto a CD directly. So far i've been able to burn a WAV file, but thats it, i have 2 completed songs sitting there waiting, i've done what the manual says and i still get 2 tracks exactly the right length but with NO SOUND!

Can anyone recommend a compressor for $1300?
Forums
Hi guys, I've got upto £800 ($1400) to buy a compressor+limiter, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions... - are there any clear winners in this price range? I only want 1 channel for vocals (i use a u87 into a john hardy preamp) and i'd put it in at the front of the chain, right after the mic.
