Good Soundcard
Forums
I am looking for a new sound card for around $80-$100, that has nice quality for recording acoustic and vocals. If any of the SoundBlasters are good for recording, i would prefer one of those.

Pseudo ORTF question?
Forums
Hi guys
There is actually a question at the end for those who don't get too bored
I bought one of those little bars that allows you to put two mics on one stand. I happen to have HM-1's, so the way the holders are I can place the mics anywhere from 3" apart to 10" apart, which is cool. I place mine about 7" apart, like an ORTF array.

Humbuckers and one volume pot? HELP!
Forums
Hi folks. Hope I can get some help from the experts. I purchased the
faded Gibson sG, and played my first gig with it lastnight. Loved how
it played and sounded, but the dual volume thing drove me nuts. I
want one volume to control both pups. My friend says, "no problem,
bring it over". We worked for 3 hours till I was almost in tears. We

1. does anyone know a good website/document/old post where can i read up about the differences between the sounds of the various Neve pre's, eg. 1073 vs 1081, v72 vs v72a vs v672 etc etc. are the v72's anything like a 1073 (minus the eq, obviously)

Recording guitar through Line 6 POD
Forums
Hi everyone, Ive got a client who wants his guitar reorder through a Line 6 POD, with no amp... Ive never recorded an electric guitar with no amp as its done sometimes with a bass guitar. What do you think of this? I told this guy its always better Micing (or miking, however its spelled) the amp with one or more mics, you can get some ambience, but he insists.

Is it worth upgrading to Socket 939?
Forums
Hi, just registred and this is my first post in this awesome forum
I own a Pentium 3.4Ghz Northwood CPU + Intel D875PBZ Mainboard + 4x 512 MB Ram.
As you know the socket 478 is dead, no further CPUs will be released for the socket.
Will an upgrade to an A64 system with (maybe) Athlon 4000+ CPU increase my DAW power/speed?
