A thorny problem that happened tonight. Would appreciate your ideas and expertise.

What happened:

I was fiddling around with my electric guitar plugged into a smokey
amp. I had my 16 Track Korg Digital recording on a single channel with a mic plugged into the channel. Inspired, I recorded a series of 8 songs--vocals and music-- straight into the mic.

I've been toying around with notching an area in the kick for the bass to sit and here is my problem.

What happens when sending the ( RME) digital out @ 24/44.1. . to an fx unit that processes signal @ 20/44.1, and then back to RME's 24/44.1 inputs?

Should I use RME's (and fx's) analog in/outs?

How is it possible for the OH's to both be 180 degrees out of phase with the rest of the drum tracks? Mine were. fixed em, and they are the best sounding drums I've recorded hands down.

I moved some soundtracks files from one drive to another and they won't open. The program prompts me to search for them and when I find them they won't open- any ideas? :D

I am ready to commit up to $3000-$3500 to get a channel strip/combo that will really excel in getting the big, warm, present and defined vocal recording sound.

i am going to be upgrading my current Macintosh DAW from a G4 to a G5, however i am unsure of which model I should choose. I could not find any specific links to view a side by side performance benchmark of the two.

The microphone input/the ability to record using the microphone at all with an integrated RealTek sound card in a Gateway pc appears to not be working - possibly due to some signal damage.

I am using outboard mic preamps, and I want to be able to split the signal so that one lead goes to the A/D and one to my console for monitoring.

I have things wired through a half-normalled patchbay, and I can easily just split the signal that way, but I am concerned about the quality of the signal being degraded that way.
