Recording a tribute CD?
Forums
What do I have to do to get the rights to record bands doing Pantera covers to release for a tribute to Pantera? It will be non-profit and the proceeds after covering for the cost of production will go to charity. The death of Dimebag inspired this project and I'm donating my time to record these bands and create this project.

Need some help with some mysterious Ampex parts
Forums
I'm gussings it's a Reel-Reel tape system, on the main part the model number is VPN-2. I'm hoping the Amp is worth some money, if anyone knows anything about this product please let me know, I can take some pictures to help you determine if it's worth anything.
Thanks a lot.

help locate financing for new recording studio
Forums
Hey everybody. I just wanted to say "HI". I have so much enjoyed this website, and getting to know more about the music industry. As an update to those of you I've talked to, I'm still helping my friend locate the financing for his new studio. I spent the day with him today and I got to see what he does for a living. I listened to a CD that he just produced.

Focusrite ISA 428 - ADC adapter and recording to hard drive
Forums
Hello all,
I just recently purchased a Focusrute ISA 428. I am trying to make up my mind as to whether I need to also get the MH-442 ADC adapter.
Without the ADC adapter, I would simply be running the four outputs of the ISA 428 to the inputs of my soundcard breakout box.

Midi problem: E-Mu 1212, Cakewalk Homestudio Alesis SR16
Forums
okay, not really one problem. I'm just completely lost. The gist, however, is this:
I want to record my SR16 in cakewalk. I want the tempo to be the same in the software and in the SR16. I don't seem to be able to get cakewalk to tell the sr16 the exact tempo (don't know the technical term). If I just set the two to the same BPM setting, the tempos are slightly off.
MobilePre USB problem
Forums
Hi, this is my first post here. I'm having a problem with my M-Audio MobilePre USB. I have an MXL 990 condenser mic and two computers set up for recording. One is a laptop P3, the other a desktop P4. Both have IDENTICAL setups: Win2K, Wavelab 5, latest service packs, drivers, same mixer settings, etc, etc.

portable studio question
Forums
hello people,
ive currently got a digi002r and Sebatron preamp but id like to record some things away from my studio. So i thought of buying a Korg d1600 http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may01/articles/Korg d1600.asp. With this i would be encorporating an RMEquadmic preamp.
