I am a musician / composer, currently using an 828mkII for recording with a Mac (desktop). This has been a great introduction to the world of digital recording. I plan to keep this equipment, and use DP for mixing in the future as I feel it has been a good investment.

Hi. I am looking for a pair of passive, magnetically shielded (have to be, due to proximity to PC monitors) nearfields. I have a budget of about £200. My brother had a pair of Alesis Point 7's, which seemed OK. I need my monitors to be small like these. Any help would be gratefully received.

I am just getting started in the home recording area. I have a G3 500 mz iMac with over 700 meg ram. I just bought a Voice Tonelab to go with my Gibson EB bass, 67 Hofner 500/1 and Fender Strat. (also have a midi). I am need of advise as to what I should get as far as software to purchase etc so I can start the home recording process.

hey, I am going to be helping out my friend record a demo of his gospel quartet. I've got a handle on recording, home recording, been doing it a while. I have good equip., but I've never done this recording thing in a church with a quartet. Basically I need tips on mixing them, setup, effects, etc. and there will be music in the background. I have this idea of buying a new daw that I would use for writing only (I am going to keep using PT for recording and editing).

It is time for me to invest into a compressor and I seek all of your help in my choosing. I have a small songwriter’s studio at home, with the of course limited budget, but I do enjoy every minute.

Hi everyone,
I was planning to buy a second DAW for my studio, the idea is to have something like a maga synth/writing station.
I think for this task I would go PC because of the many VST instruments available.

I am going to buy monitors this weekend and I have about 1000.00 to spend :?: I'm thinking Genelec 1029 or Mackie 624. Small studio (12x14) any other choices come to mind for anybody? I know this is an old topic but everybody has to learn. Thanks folks!
