A question about routers
Forums
I know this isn't directly related to DAW's, but I was wondering. I'm finally going braodband and I began to think. Would the transfer rate be better on a wired router than a wireless? It seems that a wireless router's transfer rate would ultimately be restricted by the wireless receiver that attaches to the PC.

A Few PC Questions
Forums
Hi,
I currently am running a 5400rpm drive for my software (Sonar) and a 7200rpm hard drive for the recorded wave tracks. Since I am only running the 5400 rpm for the software is that an issue?

Rosetta 800/firewire
Forums
Opus, congrats sir! Sounds like you had a great wedding/honeymoon! Havn't been around here in a while. Just wanted to ask you about the rosetta 800 and the firewire option. This is the route I want to take using firewire. Is this option going to be out any time soon? I have yet to purchase the rosetta 800 but going to very soon. :p:

Understanding Latency
Forums
So if I'm mixing in Samplitude, and I bus track 1 out of the computer and into an outboard reverb, and out of the reverb back to the track 2 in the computer, track 2 will be out of sink with the rest of the tracks?
What causes this phenomenon? A/D D/A conversion? Does latency also occur with onboard software plugins?
Thanks,
Robert

St. angers Snare sound
Forums
I think we could all use a laugh. I found this on drumheads.org forum.. "Sadly it is his bell brass. The funny thing is, I know a very cost efficient way to replicate that sound. Go find a metal chair and hit the seat part. A garbage can also be used. Honest to God, they sound identical"

Whole Set-Up Good? (long)
Forums
Hey all, I have been looking recently to move up in the world from my little old MR-8 to a semi-pro portable studio. I will be acquiring my gear one or two pieces at a time until I have them all as it takes a while for the money to come in. I look to be able to record mainly drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and other acoustic instruments.

Looking for New Audio Card - Need Advice
Forums
I currently have a GINA 20 Bit card and am having
compatibility issues with my new Motherboard(ECS K7S5A).I have heard that ECHO cards are not compatible with the SIS735 chipset. What would be a good replacement card that would work with this machine. Would like at least 2 ins, 2 outs, midi in,out, and digital out.
Thanks in advance
