Does anyone know if Chuck shut the greatidea website down? Can't seem to get any response from the server at all today.

Mixerman.. Oh, mixerman..! I bought all this gear, and.. and.. I layed a lot of tracks, real good one's... and they all sounded great.. and then I played them all together and they sound like.. little, you know? Everything became unimportant, and little, and WAY back there in the bayou, kinda.

Usually we hear that spcae is added to a mix by taking things out or away. Yet i hear of people actually creating space by adding or modifying elements of a mix, how can this be, are there frequencies that, when added, create space?

What mic/mics and techniques are you using to record trumpet, flugel horn and sax? I am extremely
happy with my vocal mic (BLUE BlueBerry) but it doesn't seem to cut it for trumpet. With a budget of about $500.00,should I be looking at large or small diaphragm condensers?

Kind of off topic for the forum but I know a lot of people hated Netscape 6 including me. It never worked properly.

I downloaded 6.1 tonight and it's pretty nice. It updated everything perfect. Except for my message filters. I had to reasign them again.

I looks better and java text is actually readable using it. It does use a bit more memory but I recommend it.

What do you guys back up computer stuff on especially LARGE audio files?
DataDAT? Exabyte?

I need to find an affordable sensible, RELIABLE backup system.
Any ideas?

I currently use Cubase 5.0/32 with Reason, Reaktor 3.0. Is Recycle a compliment to this system or is it overkill? Does Recycle mainly deal with drum loops or all types of intrument loops?

I know in the past you've posted some PC Optimizing tips. This may sound like a dumb question. But is it different to optimize depending on the sound card one uses?

It seems some of the tips I've heard from others are focused on a specific software programs or soundcards. So does the Optimizing you recommend work for all music recording purposes?

These are the 20 bit unbalanced ones, how would you compare them to the 16 bit Tascam DA-38 converters ?
