AES-31 Plug and Play
Hi,
Good news for the audio world. We are creating a native AES-31/ broadcast wave mode for RADAR 24. This will make Plug and Play a reality with other recorders and DAW's that embrace the format.

Where are the Steps?
Last I recall, Mixerman promised to elaborate on his patented 10-step mixology program. I believe that only Step 1 has been presented. Mixerman--what gives? Please cease and desist from all work for your paying clients and resume the program!

Roland 2480 vs. . Akai DPS-24
Just wondering if people familiar with these machines (or spec's in the Akai case) think it is worth the wait (December/January last I heard) for the Akai, which will also list for about $1,000 more than the Roland. Thanks. Bosbuff

Mac peer to peer setup
Looking for step by step set up instructions for direct connection from HDR to Mac.
Will I need any third party software (other than an FTP program) to set up the peer to peer network between the HDR unit & the Mac (such as I would if hooking up a Mac & a PC)?
Or will all I need is just a crossover cable & an ethernet card?

xp-30 filter control?
Hi again,
I tried my best to figure this out without another "how to?" post. In the end, I suppose that's what this BB is for...

OS to use with audio PC?
So, I'm re-OS'ing my PC at the moment. Installing Win 98SE. I'm contemplating going with a dual-boot config, so that I can run an OS that doesn't require much headroom from the RAM or the Processor. I'm basically interested in squeezing the last bit of performance from my non-performing K6 233.

New to Group R:E: Neikirk Audio
I am new to recording.org, but would like to include in my introduction a note about what a great experience I had purchasing my host card from Neikirk Audio. Before I found Neikirk no one would return my calls. I had a SSHDR-1 with no host card or cable and needed information, and then needed to purchase the card and cable.

M/S with Royer R-121?
Hello,
Any experiences with this mic in this config? I am particularly wanting to try mine in overhead position for drum kit, with a Soundelux U-99 as the M, and hoping it'll cure edginess I've sometimes found with condensers on cymbal-proud drummers.
Thanks in advance, and love this virtual community!

Tascam analog to digital audio
Greetings. I'm new to the list, but please tolerate a couple basics questions. . .
I do my home recording on a Tascam Porta 07 (yeah, a few years old). Its worked fine for my home songwriting, etc. and I've relied on professional studios for higher quality recording of my CDs and the like.
