Anyone tried one of these? just curious. A friend of mine is looking for a "respectable" yet affordable front end for her DAW at home. I realized I can get these at a *very* good price but never heard one.

I've asked this all over. First this is what I have:

Cubase VST 5.0/32
Tascam US-428 souncard
Mackie 1202VLZ

My Tascam outs feed a stereo input of the Mackie...The ALT 3/4 outs of the Mackie feed the Tascam.

Im looking to get a decent used 24 channel console in the under 7k (preferably 5k) range. Mic preamps arent all that important but the eq's have to be good. How are the Tac scorpions? I saw one online the other for a very nice price. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone ot there has had any success at recording 16 channels of 24/96 at once? if so what were you using?

i'm hoping that for this a minimum system would be a couple of ATA100 drives (7200), but can anyone confirm this?

Hi All,

I just got a pair of 603s' today. I am very excited to try recording with them, but I have a few questions already.

1. Why does it say Mogami under the 603s logo?

2. Why is the bag that it comes in just a 1/2 inch too small to accomodate the mic with the clip attached?

3. why is there a camel on the zipper?

I was wandering if someone has tips/literature on how to modify/maintain small consoles. I have a Tascam 2524 and I want to clean it, make sure everything is OK insde the board, wires and stuff... and if possible, make it better...

I have 2 44BXs which were both rebuilt and blessed by Charlie Gand before he passed away. They've both functioned well for years. In my new studio I seem to be in a substantial 60Hz EMF field (I think from the high voltage running down the street outside). Both the RCAs hum (which I can null out somewhat with position) but one is much louder than the other.

Glad to see this forum is here for Core 2 users; even though the card has a bad rep...
I'm currently building a new PC for my DAW hoping it'll work out some of the problems I've had. I've been using an AMD K6 2 500, but have come to realize that I probably need an Intel machine... Anyway, hope to hear from other users (if there are any here. :) )

I have been having a very frustrating ordeal with trying to get rid of the clicks/pops/noise on my recordings. I have been very thorough about trying many optimizations but nothing has worked yet. If anyone could help me I would be forever in their debt..
