For years I have been without an A/D Converter in my home studio setup. I went into a local store the other day to ask the guy about some things. He mentioned an A/D converter and I was like huh. what's that? He explained to me and I was wondering did I really need it.

I am looking for a way to get a decent sound for acoustic guitar. I have tried a few different techniques that might be considered standard methods, without success. The sound is not appealing to my ear.

I just bought a Saffire 6 USB. As some might recall, I had made several posts related to interfaces some time ago. I actually bought the Saffire Pro 14, in order to get up to 96Khz sampling, but the Firewire was a disaster, with tons of dropouts and random digititis, so I exchanged it for the USB 6.

I see pre delay in some reverb plugins, but cannot quite understand the concept, as I cannot form an image of how pre delay might exist or be manifest in a real room. Can anyone exlplain what it is meant to do?

AUTOTUNE Turned me into a Star:

I must be thick, because it seems to me like this should be easy to do, and yet I can't wrap my head around how to do it. Here's the issue. I record (and occasionally record live shows) using a Mackie Onyx 1640. I use the aux sends for separate (headphone) monitor mixes for several musicians (5). When tracking, the vocalists tell me they'd prefer to hear themselves with a little reverb.

Though some would have it otherwise, Macs do sometimes experience issues. I am not a Mac user for too many years to help much at all so I am compiling tips together from some recent posts. I will likely add to this list as I catch helpful hints.
