A friend of mine has need for a metronome to practice by and he needs a way to hear the metronome as well as what he is doing, which will be either electric or acoustic guitar. He doesn't have DAW capability and his budget is 'as cheap can be'. I suggested he use something with headphones but then he said he wouldn't be able to hear the acoustic guitar.

What are some options?

I have an orignal Fender Blues Deville 1993. I really need to replace all tubes, i dont really understand what my options to choose from are? can someone help?

People say to turn up/down each track individually. Why? Sometimes, I'll be trying to get the levels right and they'll all end up right relevant to each other, but be too high as an entire mix. Why not just turn down the master? Is there actual logic to this, or is this just recording dogma? Thanks.

new to the forum, not to recording. i've been doing home recording with an 8 channel interface, a condesner and a couple dynamics for two years now. i'm getting good enough with Pro Tools and engineering, and due to recording/producing a hip hop group, i want to start putting together a pro studio to be completed in spring time.
