I am mixing sampled, processed drums to a professionally produced track. I have never had near-field monitors before and am confused as to which ones to purchase. I was thinking about getting a better monitor to get better results. If I buy one good monitor, such as Genelec 8030a, will I be able to mix my drums with good results?

I want to change the pickups in my Les Paul to get a more single coil tone and I was wondering what you guys think about the P 90 and P 94T tone. Could you guys reference me any examples of the tone in rock or country? Would they be any good for jazz? I would really like a reference or two so I could determine how it sounds to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Basically, I'm studying for an Honours degree in Creative Music Technology, and for my dissertation I've chosen to investigate how peer-to-peer file sharing has affected people working in various capacities in the music industry.

I'm sure this has been discussed before. but I wanted to know if these latency numbers were good or bad.
I use an RME FF800 and this is what I see listed in Cubase in the Device Setup.
I have not tried lowering the sample buffer because it runs very well with these settings.
And I don't seem to notice this delay when I record.

Am tired of mixing on sonars mixer so I want to purchase a control surface. My budget is peaks max at $400. I saw this control surface online Novation ZeRO SL MkII and I would like to know your feed back on it or any other products you may recommend. Thank You For Your Time.
