A&H SQ6 Digital Console - New
I saw this advertised in this month's issue of Pro Sound, and thought I would post a link to info on the new A&H digital console; Boswell I know you're a fan of A&H...
This seems to be a pretty remarkable deal for under $3500 ( (US)...

Do I need to upgrade my interface?
Current vocal chain = Flea 47, Grace m103 pre (using both eq & the comp when tracking), using line-in on Focusrite Clarett 4 to to access the A/D converter, then thunderbolt into MacBook Pro / Logic Pro X daw. Recording in a treated room and I’m happy with the capture. . . sounds great for demos, SoundCloud, etc.

Steal your fate - take 2
Ready to roll!. I’ve spent the afternoon creating the drum track. Next step, if I can get it done on my own, record vocal and acoustic M/S style. Watch this space.

Comparing Two Portable Recorders
Here I compare two currently available digital mobile audio recorders, one called R1 and the other R2, to avoid being influenced by brand prejudices.
Please comment which one you like better on this application.

Console history question
Kurt Foster et al
Kurt... or anyone else who might be able to chime in...
I was wondering what console was used during the hey-day of Sigma Studios in Philly, during the period of The Spinners, Delfonics, Stylistics, etc.

Avatar Studio (NYC), Once again The Powerstation!
There involved in with Berkley Music (Boston), and they have a Non-Profit business model/sector, and their still open to the public! Great to see these things being preserved. They didn't mention if the Jbl is in the stairwell, for that classic vocal verb sound.
Can a JBL 4206 crossover frequency of 2.6 kHz be changed to a Crossover Frequency of 2.8 kHz
Hi, I'm interested in buying some JBL speakers but the seller has said that the crossovers have been changed from the original JLB 4206 ones to JBL 4208 crossovers. He said that the speakers sound fine.
Serial vs. Parallel Compression
Disclaimer: I am fully aware of how broad the scope of this question is, and how each specific track calls for individual techniques.
That being said, can we discuss when you would want to use serial compression vs parallel compression?

Sound card to summing mixer mixup?
Hey guys,
my friend has an 8x8 soundcard (8 ins / 8 outs) Apogeesymphony.
I plan to buy a NEV-8816 summing mixer.
The summing mixer has more 8 more inputs than the soundcard.
Is it possible to use all 16 channels when doing analog processing even if my friends sound card only has 8 inputs ins/outs?

Can You Hear the Difference?
I'm curious to know if listeners can hear the difference in two versions of the same song (one is processed and the other is not).
