Mouth Noise
Forums
I an recording a singer that sings very quietly. To get a good level I have to crank up the gain. I am getting lots of mouth noise and no amount of water or apple juice seem to fix the problem. I can remove most of the noise but it is time consumming. I have tried different mics, U87, AKG 414, Cad, and am now using 421 with pop filter and wind screen. Still getting it.

Aggregate device question
Forums
Has anybody tried to use a FireWire audio interface and a USB audio interface together with Apple's aggregate device option? Would it be best to just pick up another FireWire interface for data flow/latency issues?
I have a PreSonus Firepod and would like to add 2 extra channels on occasion. (Yeah, I just can't get the S/PDIF thing to work.)

Another gain-staging question...
Forums
I have heard that when recording to digital, you want you levels to becoming in at -18 to -20 with peaks around -9 or 10.
If I wanted to add a digital pre-amp and/or digital compression when tracking do I want the signal to those plugins to be at -18ish, or do I want the end result to be at a higher volume?

Bass EQing
Forums
Here's one for the more experienced engineers and home studio veterans: tell me if there's anything wrong in how I'm EQing my bass parts. So, I use an e906 (in neutral, which is really just an e609) to mic the bass cab.

Wav file is distorted please help!
Forums
Hi. I was mixing some files in Adobe Audition 3 as 1 long wav file. I finished the mix and it sounds awful. It sounded good when I first mixed it, but now it sounds as if it is distorted. I think I saved it as the wrong file. Microsoft ADPCM Wav file. What can I do to fix the mix to make it sound good? I am screwed. Do I have to start the mix all over again?

NS10M or NS10M Studio
Forums
This is not a post on "what are the differences". I am hoping to gather info about which pair do most prefer. Do many still prefer the original NS10M's? or does everyone agree that the Studio's were a worthwhile improvement and the originals are too ______ (harsh, vertical :), etc.?). Thanks for your opinions!
